If you like your 1980s as 1980s as possible, Hasbro’s latest crossover Transformer hits all the right notes. The new Autobot Gigawatt is a “time-travelling” robot in disguise celebrating 35 years since the release of the original Back to Future movie.
There’s seriously a lot I could say about this upcoming crossover, because it combines two of my all-time favorite 1980s properties, but I’ll let the images in the gallery below do the talking.

Gigawatt includes “a blaster and whip antennae accessories,” and includes”Doc Brown-style goggles, a flux capacitor chest piece, and time circuits.”
In vehicle mode, Gigawatt’s gullwing doors are fully functional and the “wheels rotate from vertical to horizontal” for those times when where you’re going, you don’t need roads.
The first run is limited to just 1985 units and will be available only from Walmart.com beginning July 3. A second-wave of figures will be available in October “via HasbroPulse.com and select retailers,” and a four-part companion comic series from IDW will also premiere in October.
Gigawatt is the latest in a big push from Hasbro to take us all back in time, with a new round of G.I. Joe Classified figures being introduced last month, and joins Ecto-1 in the Transformers/80s movie pantheon of figures.
