With Dune’s new IMAX trailer set to drop later this week, Warner Bros. has released a set of new character posters for the film. They offer a glimpse of the upcoming sci-fi epic’s heroes and protagonsists with the tagline “It Begins.”
The posters include Oscar Isaac, who looks very tired as Duke Leto; Jason Momoa, who will play swordmaster Duncan Idaho, and Timothée Chalamet, who is positively smoldering as the young protagonist, Paul Atreides. Representing the villains is Stellan Skarsgård, who is very, very bald as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.

The upcoming film will be the latest attempt to turn Frank Herbert’s sprawling sci-fi series into a feature film. Dune has been incredibly influential in the literary space since its original publication in 1965, but a successful movie adaptation has proven elusive over the years. Director Denis Villeneuve will be the latest creator to give it a shot.
Dune has been in production for several years now. It was originally set for a November 2020 release, but was subsequently delayed a year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite reports of a 45-day exclusive theatrical release window, it is currently set for a same-day release in theaters and HBO Max.
